LEAP Training

Do you have a family member with a serious mental illness and isn’t willing to accept treatment? If so, then LEAP can help.

LEAP® (Listen-Empathize-Agree-Partner) courses are for family members or caregivers of someone experiencing psychosis (hallucinations and/or delusions) and isn’t aware of having a mental illness. Developed by Dr. Xavier Amador, author of I am not Sick, I don’t Need Help, LEAP can help improve or repair your relationship and get your loved one to accept treatment.

For more information or to register, please visit edmonton.cmha.ca/programs-services/leap

Note: these courses are limited to family members or other loved ones residing in Alberta. Training can also be arranged for health care professionals, law enforcement, or any other group that works with persons who have a serious mental illness. Please contact the LEAP trainer for more information.
